Collier County Public Schools consists of 40 schools
and serves over 34,000 students countywide. Their
mission is to provide each student with the opportunity
to obtain intellectual growth consistent with the
student's highest abilities and to pursue the
development of good character in a safe learning
environment. They work to achieve this mission by
employing the most qualified and highest paid teachers
in the state of Florida. According to the District
website, 38% of the county’s 2,400 employed teachers
hold advanced degrees and their salaries are
consistently ranked in the top five districts in the
state.
The school district has the second
largest wide area computer network in Collier County
with more than 13,000 computers linked together.
Students enjoy a ratio of approximately 1 computer to 5
students with more technology being added every day.
Lee County Public Schools
Lee County Schools is the 60th largest district in
the United States and educates approximately 65,000
students. The district boasts approximately 10,000
employees, and is the largest employer in Lee County.
Interestingly, they are the largest developer in Lee
County, with many construction projects underway to keep
up with Lee County's continued growth.
